Who we are
Layerpod, LLC ("LayerPod", "we") runs layerpod.com, the LayerPod portal and the stores we host for our account holders. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. "Account holders" means creators, merchants, wholesale customers, printing partners and anyone else with a LayerPod account.

How we use it
- To run your account, your store and your orders, including printing, packing and shipping
- To pay what we owe and charge what's owed
- To keep accounts and stores secure and to prevent fraud and abuse
- To answer questions and send account and service messages
- To understand how the site and portal are used, so we can improve them
- To send updates you've asked for, like waitlist invitations (you can unsubscribe any time)
- To meet legal and tax obligations
Cookies and analytics
We use a small number of cookies to keep you signed in and secure. Our own analytics count visits without advertising cookies and without building profiles across other websites. We may also use a privacy-focused analytics provider to measure site performance. We don't sell your information and we don't use it for targeted advertising.
Our visitor analytics, on layerpod.com and on the stores we host, are built to keep very little. We don't keep your full connection address: we use it only to work out a rough country or region and then discard it. We cut most of the web address after the question mark, we never take names, email addresses or account IDs from a store, and we don't fingerprint your device. Instead of a cookie, we use a random visitor ID that changes every day; a store may use a cookie of its own only where its consent setting allows it. On layerpod.com we always respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. Individual visit records are kept for 90 days, and the totals made from them are kept indefinitely. The one place a full connection address is kept is our security log, for 30 days, so we can spot and block attacks.
More detail on what we record
Announcement emails. Some announcements we send to account owners are tracked. A tiny image records an approximate open (this can be wrong, because some mail apps load images in advance and others block them), the button in the email goes through a link that records a click, and our email provider tells us whether the email was delivered or bounced. We also record whether an announcement banner in the portal was seen or dismissed. This is kept per account, with the announcement, and only our team can see it. Sign-in links, password resets, billing and order emails carry no tracking of our own. The email service we use to send them adds its own anonymous count of opens and clicks to every message, including these. It is not linked to your account, and we do not use it to follow individual people.
Designer profiles and the activity log. If you give us your designer profile addresses, we keep them, the verification phrases we ask you to place, and where you placed them, so we can confirm they are yours and bring in your designs. We also keep an activity log of what happens on an account: sign-ins, product changes, uploads and their size, use of our writing helpers, support tickets and terms acceptances, along with who did each one. The log is kept for 400 days and only our team can see it.
Terms acceptances and account owners' details. Every time someone accepts our terms, we keep the version, the time, the connection address and the browser. An account owner's address and phone number are stored encrypted and are used only to recognize orders an owner places for themselves.
Checking for orders placed by an owner. To spot orders an account owner places in their own store, a store sends us scrambled codes made from the buyer's details with a key unique to that store, never the details themselves. We compare them with codes made the same way from the owner's details. A match holds the order for review, and our team sees only which kind of detail matched.
Refused uploads. If we refuse an image or file you upload, for example because it isn't what it claims to be, we record the reason, your account and store and, for uploads made in the portal, your connection address and browser. These records are kept for 30 days and only our team can see them.
Waitlist. Joining the waitlist from another page adds that interest to the same entry. We keep waitlist entries until you are invited or ask us to remove yours. On layerpod.com, the waitlist form and page-view counts pass through small services run for us by our content delivery provider, which forward them to us along with your connection address, browser and country.
Partner applications. If you apply to be a printing partner, we keep what you send: your business and contact details, your location, your printers and the materials you print, and anything you add. We use it to decide whether to work together and to contact you, and only our team can see it. We keep it until we decide not to work together or you ask us to remove it, and we delete an application that did not lead to working together within 12 months of that decision.
Who we share it with
We share information only as needed to run LayerPod:
| Category | Why |
|---|---|
| Cloud hosting and storage providers | To host the site, portal, stores, files and backups |
| Content delivery and security providers | To deliver pages and images quickly and block attacks |
| Payment processors | To take payments and send payouts |
| Email providers | To send account, order and service emails |
| Shipping carriers | To deliver orders |
| AI service providers | To power optional writing helpers; we don't let them train on your content |
| Printing partners | To make and ship orders they're assigned |
| Professional advisers and authorities | When required by law, or to protect rights and safety |
If LayerPod is ever part of a merger or sale, information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.
How long we keep it
We keep information while your account is active and as long as needed for orders, taxes, disputes and security. Account and order records are kept for up to 7 years after an account closes, for tax and legal reasons, and support messages for 3 years. Where a section above gives a shorter period, that period applies. Waitlist entries are deleted on request or when the waitlist closes.
Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, monitoring and regular backups. No system is perfect, so tell us right away at support@layerpod.com if you think your account is at risk.
Your choices and rights
You can view and update most account details in the portal. You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your information, or to stop certain uses, by emailing support@layerpod.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights; we honor them as required by law. We won't treat you differently for using them.
Children
LayerPod is for businesses and adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
International users
We're based in the United States, and information may be processed there and in other countries where our providers operate.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above and let account holders know.
